I am a freelance instructor, rider and groom working in South Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.

I started riding at the age of 3 and qualified as a riding instructor at 18. Since then I have worked and coached in a variety of environments, including riding clubs, competition environments, riding schools and private clients. These clients have ranged from nervous beginners to competitive riders across the 3 main disciplines. I also train a number of career students, from Pony Club through to BHS stage 5 and I am an Accredited Professional Assessor for the BHS Ride Safe qualification.

I have worked as a groom for a range of clients, including a 3 times HOYS Supreme Champion showing team and South Yorkshire Mounted Police.
I now offer freelance grooming services and show preparation.

I take pride in the range of experience I have to draw from. Though much of it comes from 'behind the scenes' work, it has given me a very complete view of the issues that may be faced in improving horse and rider, as well as a variety of methods to overcome these.

In 2006 I was placed 3rd nationally in The British Horse Society Young Instructor of the Year challenge.

In 2011 I was awarded the A.B.R.S Jeffress Scholarship, which provided me with funding for training to further my teaching skills. This was pivotal in enabling me to take the time to hone my skills for the BHS Senior Equitation and Coaching assessments (Now BHS Stage 5 Riding and Coaching).

I remain committed to my own ongoing personal and professional development and hope ultimately to become a Fellow of the British Horse Society (FBHS). More information on my qualifications can be found here.
